Softgent Sp. z o.o. has received funding from the European Union for the project “Maritime Security and Maritime Infrastructure Monitoring System Based on 5G and LoRaWAN”.
The GreenSeeDrone project addresses the growing challenges of maritime infrastructure monitoring and environmental surveillance. The project’s research and development objective is to design, validate, and demonstrate an innovative autonomous system for comprehensive monitoring and protection of critical maritime infrastructure.
The system will be based on advanced unmanned platforms, hybrid communication technologies, and novel artificial intelligence algorithms for data fusion and anomaly detection. Integrated cybersecurity will also play a key role in the solution.
Task 1: Conceptualization and requirements specification
Task 2: Development and prototyping of autonomous platforms
Task 3: Development and integration of a hybrid 5G/LoRaWAN communication system
Task 4: Development and optimization of Edge AI and data fusion algorithms
Task 5: System integration, validation, and demonstration
By developing a functional system demonstrator, the GreenSeeDrone project will significantly improve the security and efficiency of maritime asset management. The project aligns with the objectives of the Regional Research Agenda “Smart and Green Sea Technologies”, strengthening innovation in the Pomeranian region while contributing to the protection of the marine environment and critical infrastructure.
The developed system demonstrator, reaching Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7, will provide a direct foundation for future deployment and commercialization in both domestic and international markets.
Project outcomes will include:
The project has been implemented since April 2026.
The project results will be commercially utilized by Softgent under licensing and service-based business models, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the project outcomes beyond its completion.
The primary target groups and beneficiaries of the project include:
• Operators of critical maritime infrastructure
• Maritime safety and environmental protection authorities
• Companies operating in the R&D and ICT sectors
Secondary target groups include public administration bodies, local government authorities, end users, and society as a whole.
Total project value: PLN 3,564,429.88
European Union contribution: PLN 2,374,644.33
